Sur le nom choisi, voir le livre de Daniel Heath Justice « Badger »: “Phil Drabble emphatically declared that he suffered from ‘acute and incurable melophilia . . . a rare and delightful ailment from which I am thankful that I can never be healed . . . The only symptomis a deep affection for badgers.’ While Drabble intended this term to be a reference to Meles meles, it is an unfortunate neologism, for not only did he not coin melophilia, the word actually refers to a love of music, with melomania a ‘frantic fondness’ and melophobia an ‘aversion’ (…). Dr John Aveline, a professional Latinist, suggested ‘meliphilia’ (and the anglicized ‘meliphile)’ as the more appropriate Latin forms of Drabble’s ailment.”
